Volunteers will be asked to scan name badges as attendee's enter sessions and special events. Events take place at TCU Place unless otherwise noted. 2023 Saskatoon Saskatchewan Blue Cross MS Walk Event Day Volunteer

Description: The 2023 Saskatoon Saskatchewan Blue Cross MS Walk is taking place Sunday May 28th 11:00 am at North Meewasin Park. The MS Walk is a community-driven event for people living with or affected by MS as well as those who want to support our vision of creating a world free of MS. Tens of thousands of Canadians come together in their communities every May to participate, fundraise and volunteer in MS Walk to help find the cause and cure for this disease. Description: Dundonald Community Association is looking for someone to join the team to help with communications and marketing. As part of a team, you will work with the DCA board to: create posters and social media advertising for programming, special events, and notices. coordinate and create content and produce regular electronic and paper newsletters. update the website with pictures, information about events and more maintain the email database of volunteers and e-newsletter recipients create an advertising model so local businesses can advertise in our newsletters  create budgets for communication and marketing activities. create innovative ways to reach a broader portion of our near 6000 residents! We welcome people of all abilities and commitment levels. If there is only a portion of this you can help with, or can only help for a few weeks or months, we are happy to have your help. Skills required are really flexible but most helpful would be: Strong typing skills and grammar. ability to learn different computer programs-from word processor, to Canva, MailChimp and more. ability to self organize Creativity - particularly with visuals! This is a great job for someone looking to volunteer their expertise short or long term, as well as for people wanting to build their expertise in communications and marketing. CIBC Run for the Cure Leadership Volunteering - Corporate Engagement Lead

Description: The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause. This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 1, 2023. COMMITTEE MEMBER OVERVIEW You are passionate about the breast cancer cause, well-connected in your community, and enjoy event planning. The ideal candidate for this volunteer role has a positive attitude, communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of self-motivation and time management. Knowledge and/or experience in any of the following responsibilities is considered an asset. As the volunteer Corporate Outreach Lead, you will be responsible for: Creating a community and corporate outreach strategy, in collaboration with the Community Outreach Lead. Contacting local businesses and invite them to get involved with the CIBC Run for the Cure. Securing local gift-in-kind and monetary sponsors. TIME COMMITMENT This is a 6-month commitment (May through October). Attending local committee meetings (generally bi-weekly to monthly). Saskatchewan Entertainment Expo

Description: We will require 2 volunteers to be present during photobooth hours, which are as follows: Expo will take place at Prairieland Park on: Friday 5th, Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th May, 2023. Friday - Open (4:30pm - 8:30pm) Saturday - Open (10:00 - 5:30pm) Sunday - Open (10:00 - 4:30pm) Their role is to: (1) Be the face of the Children's Hospital and if necessary inform visitors. Empathy Squad *VIRTUAL* Audio Storytellering and Podcasting Training

Description: Gather Oral Histories to Foster Empathy and Build your Podcasting Skills. The Empathy Squad is a hands-on, experiential-service-learning opportunity for diverse youth from across Canada aimed at creating meaningful connections and increasing understanding of one another through public engagement, facilitated conversations, active listening and presentation, aimed at capturing and preserving our country's collective community memory for generations to come.  The Empathy Squad program is made possible by the Canada Service Corps.  As a participant, you will:  ✅ Acquire the knowledge and practical skills needed to produce high-quality audio stories: interviewing and recording techniques, audio-editing, narrative shaping, and sound design;  ✅ Volunteer in service of your community, learn about what’s important to them through active listening and help foster empathy for their lived experiences;  ✅ Experience hands-on learning alongside fellow future leaders and from industry professionals across the country.    Program Expectations:  Have access to strong internet connection and a laptop available on which you can download and install: Slack (Mac OS / Windows OS), Descript (find system requirements here), Google Chrome, Zoom;  Attend scheduled Zoom sessions that consist of live demonstrations, instructional videos and feedback sharing from facilitators, Guest Artists and peers;  Apply learnings by conducting interviews, using audio recording equipment, and completing assignments using audio-editing software, Descript;  Engage with facilitators and peers using program communication platforms (Slack, Zoom, provided Empathy Squad email address);  Commit 10-12 hours a week, including scheduled Zoom sessions and work in your own time.    Application Process and Timeline: Cohorts 15 & 16 will run simultaneously from October to December 2023.  Deadline to apply for Cohorts 15 & 16: September 1, 2023.  Cohorts 17 & 18 will run simultaneously from January to March 2024.
