Treasurer, Volunteer Board Member. The Treasurer will offer guidance to the Board of Directors ensuring good fiscal planning and decision-making. The Board Treasurer is an executive and voting member of the Board of Directors. The Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas believe in the spirit of Witaskêwin, living together on the land. We believe this project can be part of an effective long-term strategy to focus our vision on this ideal. In a significant way this project allows the past to meet the present and future. The rich geological, historical, natural, and cultural heritage of the areas honours where we have been. Science, conservation, and hands on learning about the land, the environment and sustainability ensure our future. “In the end, we will conserve only what we love. The afforestation areas were preserved in perpetuity in 1972 by city council The Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. is a non-profit incorporation formed with a mission to honour the council decision of 1972, and to continue onwards to conserve the Saskatoon afforestation areas which we love. We are in a position to train and work with the right individual. We are established online for our accounting at the present moment. The person selected for this position will be receiving financial information via email, and the accounting will be done jointly connecting via Zoom with another director on the board to begin with. Board meetings occur on the second Thursday of the month and they are about one hour in length. The monthly accounting reconciliation and reports take about one hour to prepare using the automated accounting program- therefore the time commitment is approximately two – three hours working remotely.
