Opportunity Description:

In STEMnosis, we are releasing a free research course tailored to beginners. All content and lessons are supplemented with neuroscience and public health examples. For our course, we are looking for mentors who can support students in their research process. Volunteer Position Overview: Mentors will routinely respond to student questions related to their research in Slack and Zoom chat on how best to word their research question, hypothesis, choosing a topic, conducting and choosing a method, finding reliable sources, etc. Mentors will help relay feedback to final projects conducted by students on areas to grow, areas where scientific knowledge could’ve been more concisely portrayed or more accurate, areas of which students did a fantastic job, etc. Will generally be available throughout August. For mentors, we are looking for someone who is: A university student in the medical field (preferred neuroscience and public health) Has participated in research at a lab and understands how to ideate and create research Been published in a journal or other research presenting mediums, and has experience creating research papers Has experience mentoring students in an educational field before, and will be able to help students ideate research topics, create research questions and hypothesis, etc. (preferred) Email stemnosis.sask@gmail.com if you are interested.
