Role Description: Are you passionate about photography and enchanted by the beauty of nature? Join the Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas as a Nature and Landscape Photographer and play a key role in capturing the mesmerizing essence of Saskatoon’s hidden gems – the Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and George Genereux Urban Regional Park. Responsibilities: Exploration: Wander through the enchanting woodlands of Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area (326 acres) and the scenic George Genereux Urban Regional Park (148 acres). Photography: Capture the magic of sunrises, sunsets, waterfowl, songbirds, plants, mushrooms, wetlands, trees, bushes, and wildlife throughout the seasons. Calendar Contribution: Submit your best shots for consideration in the upcoming 2025 calendar. Your images will showcase the hidden beauty of these natural spaces. Qualifications: Enthusiastic about nature photography. Owns a camera or smartphone with a passion for capturing stunning landscapes. Familiarity with Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and George Genereux Urban Regional Park is a plus. Skills Required: Passion for Nature Photography or Artwork: Enthusiastic about capturing the beauty of nature through photography or artistic expressions. Photography / Artistic Skills: Proficient in using a camera or smartphone for photography, or adept at creating artwork. Ability to capture stunning landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, wildlife, and more. Familiarity with Natural Spaces: Knowledge or willingness to become familiar with Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and George Genereux Urban Regional Park is advantageous. Creativity: Ability to bring a creative and unique perspective to showcase the hidden beauty of natural environments. Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented approach to capture the essence of Saskatoon’s hidden gems in the best possible way. Community Spirit: Willingness to contribute to a community project and share the beauty of nature with the wider community. Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with the Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas team.
