Background/police check required Appropriate for volunteers aged between 18 and 55 Appropriate for volunteers aged 55 and over Family-oriented volunteering Training or orientation required Opportunity Description: Prairie Hospice Society is a charitable, non-profit community organization working to ensure access to compassionate, community-based, end-of-life support in Saskatoon. We provide one-on-one companionship and non-medical support for clients and their families, raise awareness and educate the community about end-of-life care, and advocate for quality end-of-life care. Volunteers offer non-medical, practical and emotional support to people who are living with a terminal illness. All volunteer services are offered to clients free of charge. YOUR COMMITMENT We ask that you dedicate at minimum a half day to one day weekly, although we are able to accommodate those able to give a few days a month or during particular times of the year (ie summer months, winter months). Your schedule will be provided ahead of time or more and will depend on busy days/periods, your preferences and client demand.  * As a volunteer, you are a representative and ambassador who promotes the mission and values of Prairie Hospice Society
